In today's world lots of places are trying to be divided from some place.I'm gonna tell you about two of them which are Scotland, and Catalonia. Let's start off with the most recent one,Scotland.Scotland's target was to no longer stay in UK.It was a close call, but they failed to get out of the United Kingdom.People who wanted Scotland to be independent were 45%.If 6% more people from Scotland would have taken this side, the Kilt and Bagpipes would no longer be seen so commonly.Though I felt only three countries would be there in UK-Wales,Ireland and England though it turned out my point of view was wrong. The Scots are back to square one.It truly was a nail biting election, with such a close call. Now over to Catalonia.Catalonia is a region in Spain which consists of Barcelona, one of the most popular cities in Spain.Catalonia wants to be independent from Spain. Now if you ask me why, they have a different culture, different language and independent nature.Catalonia has never felt to be a part of Spain. The fact that every region of Spain has a different culture, and a couple of others have different languages, seems irrelevant, as does the fact that the region has been part of Spain since before it was Spain! But there is a good thing too.Barcelona would no longer be a part of the La liga(Spanish League),and my favourite team Real Madrid would no longer struggle in the match vs Barca. They'll be as cool as a cucumber because they wouldn't have to be so tired in training. And that also may mean a free ticket to the top of the table, and holding the cup.Well, let's see.On November 9 they'll discuss this issue, which is only a month away.Let's hope for the verdict to be Catalonia another addition in Europe!
Hahaha!!! I bet Catalians would be super amused with your concerns!! Verdict is less than a week away!
ReplyDeleteSatyakam, I loved the region of Catalonia as it is full of interesting architecture; but if it does separate from Spain then divison of resources always becomes an issue. And people have start lives afresh in a new country. I have seen how the citizen suffered when Yugoslavia, Czechslovakia and other East European nations broke up. Let's hope Spain does not go through the same fate.
