George and the big bang

I just read this book called George and the big bang which is about the universe. It was mind-blowing.This is the third book of the series. The first two were equally amazing too. It's written by this famous scientist,Stephen Hawking. He is a cosmologist, who studies the universe. He has contributed a lot to the mystery of black holes. He is paralysed. So the book is a fictional adventure written with real facts. The characters have a supercomputer,Cosmos which can make a portal and we can go anywhere in the universe and that's how they find out things. They've even written how to get out of a black hole and because of the books,I've learnt what E=mc2 means. The author is surely a great one, especially, because of the awesome knowledge that is in the book which everyone would expect you to know in the 10th grade. It has tons of knowledge. It is the first book I have ever read in which the author has converted non-fiction into fiction, which makes it all the more fun.It even has 32 pages of coloured images about the universe. This book is one that has coloured pictures, fiction and non-fiction which makes the reader understand it more well. So,hats off to Stephen Hawking!

The extraordinary elections

Well, the biggest exercise in the biggest Democracy-The Parliamentary elections  were held this April-May over seven phases in our country India. The results were Manmohan Singh resigning and Narendra Modi becoming the Prime Minister.Well,BJP got 282 seats with leaving Congress behind at somewhere around 45.The surprising thing was AAP got only 4 seats, all in Punjab.Even I was hoping that Modi becomes the Prime Minister, and I felt this was surely going to happen, and it did! He's the first Prime Minister to be born in Independent India on 17th September,1950.Friday,the day the elections results were out was one day when all Indians were hooked on to their TV's.The results were even being shown at Times Square in New York, which proves that how important the Indian elections are.I could see Arnab Goswami debating from 6 am till 12 pm.I was surprised to hear that even celebrities were candidates for the elections. Some examples are Bhaichung Bhutia,Mohammed Azharuddin,Mohd Kaif,Hema Malini and Paresh Rawal. BJP got all the seven seats in Delhi which is a total opposite of the 2009 elections,in which Congress got all seven.Dr Harshwardhan who missed on becoming Delhi CM,finally is a MP from Chandni Chowk constituency where my Nanu-Nani voted. If Delhi assembly elections are held right now,BJP would surely defeat AAP.But then,Dr Harshwardhan has to give up his MP seat if he wants to become CM.Where I live,Gurgaon has also been won by BJP's Rao Inderpal Singh.Modi actually deserves it because his interviews and speeches are great and he was a brilliant CM.Most of the people I know like Modi. But is Modi going to turn out such a great Prime Minister that makes our country clean, urbanised, technologically advanced ,poverty-free and such elements to leave such a big and advanced country like USA speechless? You never know! You might as well keep your fingers crossed for the upcoming five years.

Blog 75:The Case of the Astronaut who bit the dust!!

Law and order:Criminal intent is a crime/mystery show that comes every weekday on Fox Crime. So I just watched this case in which the mystery is all about a female astronaut who kicks the bucket just a few days before going to space and the detectives have to crack the case and report to the District Attorney.I like this chap,Chris North who plays the role of a detective in the series, who was also "Big" in Sex and the city 2.
So,Space and Universe is my theme this month and as I tell you,it was definitely worthy for our class to watch. But since I'm the only one who watched it,let me start. So some astronauts are in New York for a conference. One of them gets murdered.Well they made it look so real.We even saw NASA's centre in Houston,Texas which is where space shuttles take off.It was all about NASA,also which I understood well because NASA was the topic of my homework.I even saw spacesuits which looked totally out of the world and my adjective also tells the use of the spacesuit. The other cases have long words which can sometimes make me drowsy. But,well this one was the topic I would have wanted, and it was right on time.I even saw astronauts wearing their practicing suits, not spacesuits. It was blue track pants and blue jacket with the logo NASA printed on it,which I hope I shall be looking at the mirroring the future with my suit. And the scenes and settings weren't fictional when I looked at the pictures.I guess the show kind of reads my mind.I know all the shows I write about are related to criminals, but I love mystery and I will. After all,a leopard can't change it's spots!

Nehru Planetarium

Today I went to the Nehru Planetarium in Delhi. The planetarium is what was first Jawaharlal Nehru's (India's 1st Prime Minister) house. It was established in 1984.I went there with my friend in the morning. So while we were looking,we saw a quiz that we could operate but when we pressed the button, nothing happened. No buttons were working. Then we saw a weighing scale in which we could weigh ourselves on different objects of the solar system.Well,I expected it to be a cool instrument, but unfortunately,it turned out that it didn't work. Now I can prove it easily that this place is old.My mom says planetariums abroad in places such as Singapore are better than this. So,if you compare the both, you'll find out they're as alike as chalk and cheese.Though you might think the whole trip was a bore, hold your horses. After that,I saw a real spacesuit with all the shoes, socks helmets etc of an Indian astronaut,Ravish Malhotra. Though his spacesuit is on display,he never actually made it to space. He and Rakesh Sharma had a clash about who would go to space and be the first Indian to reach space. Both the rivals were good, but Rakesh Sharma won. Then we saw a short movie in the coolest theatre I've ever seen.It was called a sky dome.It was a round theatre in which there was a projector right in the middle and seats in circles around it.But the best feature the projector used to show the movie above near the dome and both the sides. It was about the solar system, and everything in it and mind-blowing facts too.Well,I surely had a good time there!

The splendid solar system

Our solar system is so wonderful,so magnificent
It has created an impression on me,rather a dent
Our galaxy is called the Milky way
It's shape is spiral,it's colour is grey
The big bang was how the universe was formed
Not a faint sound came, though you might think it was like the world bombed
Let's start of with the blazing hot sun
Getting even a thousand kilometres close to it wouldn't be fun
The sun is a glowing ball of gases and the biggest star
Plans for getting near it in the future are very far
Ask Icarus, the Greek god who went close to the sun and ended up dying
I wouldn't trade his wax wings, not even trying
Th 450 c Mercury is named after the Roman god of speed
An year only takes 88 days, from what I read
Venus has more volcanoes than any other planet
Reaching there and getting boiled wouldn't be great
Our home,Earth is where we can only survive
The only place with water and probably the best place to swim and dive
Mars, called the Red planet because of it's iron
With a gigantic volcano,Mount Olympus and a place where there can be an alien
Jupiter, the largest planet with 63 moons
Has a storm bigger than Earth, raging for 350 years an enough to leave the Earth in ruins
Saturn is beautiful because of it's rings
Looks like a huge planet floating with wings
Uranus's color is a pale blue
Discovered in the 1800s,which compared to the other planets is new
Neptune,a freezing planet, from the sun it's very far
While blistering winds roar at 3000 kilometres per hour
The asteroid belt is between Mars and Jupiter
Looks like a doughnut made of litter
Constellations are patterns of stars that can be easily remembered
Constellations are usually animals, people, objects or a bird
Comets are made of rock, ice and dust and are small in size
Meteors are like asteroids and have showers,so they are easily recognised
I hope a new planet can be discovered in some time
But for now, this is the end of my rhyme
