Today I went to the Nehru Planetarium in Delhi. The planetarium is what was first Jawaharlal Nehru's (India's 1st Prime Minister) house. It was established in 1984.I went there with my friend in the morning. So while we were looking,we saw a quiz that we could operate but when we pressed the button, nothing happened. No buttons were working. Then we saw a weighing scale in which we could weigh ourselves on different objects of the solar system.Well,I expected it to be a cool instrument, but unfortunately,it turned out that it didn't work. Now I can prove it easily that this place is old.My mom says planetariums abroad in places such as Singapore are better than this. So,if you compare the both, you'll find out they're as alike as chalk and cheese.Though you might think the whole trip was a bore, hold your horses. After that,I saw a real spacesuit with all the shoes, socks helmets etc of an Indian astronaut,Ravish Malhotra. Though his spacesuit is on display,he never actually made it to space. He and Rakesh Sharma had a clash about who would go to space and be the first Indian to reach space. Both the rivals were good, but Rakesh Sharma won. Then we saw a short movie in the coolest theatre I've ever seen.It was called a sky dome.It was a round theatre in which there was a projector right in the middle and seats in circles around it.But the best feature the projector used to show the movie above near the dome and both the sides. It was about the solar system, and everything in it and mind-blowing facts too.Well,I surely had a good time there!
Such visits are always educative and you learn a lot despite some misgivings!
